Ever since I can remember, I never had defined abs nor defined triceps. Being built athletic, but with feminine curves– it was always difficult to build defined abs. During the lockdown between March and May I wasn’t working out intensively, so I noticed that my body needs a tone up. When I heard about Emsculpt, a new noninvasive, body contouring method that promises to build muscles— it sounded like a miracle to me.
Thanks to YUVELL Home of Aesthetics in Vienna, I was invited to visit the aesthetics clinic after lockdown to try the Emscupt in four areas: abs, glutes, triceps and inner thighs. As a highly active and healthy person, who knows the benefits of a strong core that improves posture and less back, neck, and knee pain— I was even more excited to try this treatment.
WHAT IS EMSCULPT?
Emsculpt is an FDA-cleared to build muscle and eliminate fat for both men and women. Non-invasive, electromagnetic procedure that claims to eliminate fat cells and tighten muscles on four of the most common problem area: abs, glutes, tights and arms. All you have to do is, lie down at a flat chair, sit back and relax as the electromagnetic pulses strengthen your muscle fibers and burn unwanted fat.
HOW DOES THE EMSCULPT WORK?
The actual process is relatively painless. The device straps are placed over your stomach area (or other areas), and then a practitioner turns up the power. We started at lower power, and slowly up to 100% power. It felt strange at first—like a super-intense vibration that reaches your core, but slowly I got used to it and the intense vibration felt normal.
Emsculpt recommends that users do 4x 30-minute sessions 2-3 days apart for optimal results. YUVELL Home of Aesthetics says, the full effect can be seen after about 2 to 3 months, when the fat content has also been reduced.
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR EMSCULPT?
This treatment is for anyone who is health-conscious and exercises but is looking for that extra definition. Unless you are pregnant or nursing, you must wait until after you have stopped breastfeeding to consider this treatment.
To be a good candidate for Emsculpt, it is crucial that you have realistic expectations about the results. While results vary from person to person, I am very happy with the results after 6 weeks, while practicing reformer Pilates has also helped me to build a stronger and defined body. NOTE: Emsculpt should not be used as a substitute for exercise.
HOW MUCH DOES EMSCULPT COST?
Costs per treatment start from 1,400 EUR! Truth be told, it is not affordable for most people. However, it’s totally worth it for those who can afford it, because working out can only activate about 50% of that muscle group every three to five seconds.
On the other hand, Emsculpt activates 100% of the muscle 20,000 times in a 30-minute period. The hyper-contraction of the muscle, the fatty acids in the muscle cells leak out.
