Again this year, Campari, the unforgettable Italian red spirit, is the official partner of the 80th Venice Film Festival. A dazzling spectacle of cinema, fashion, and glamour— held in the picturesque city of Venice, Italy. This annual event is a celebration of cinema world at its finest. But this year, it had something extra special in store— the premiere of the highly anticipated Ferrari movie and the Campari Red Passion Party in the historic Hotel Des Bains.
As the stars descended upon the city of canals, thank to Campari— I had the chance to walk again on the iconic Palazzo del Cinema red-carpet.
The Perfect Backdrop
The Venice Film Festival is renowned for its exquisite locations, and this year was no exception. Set against the backdrop of the Venetian lagoon, the festival venues exuded an old-world charm that perfectly complemented the glitz and glamour of the event. From the historic Palazzo del Cinema to the enchanting Lido di Venezia, every corner of the city was transformed into a movie lover’s paradise.
The Ferrari Movie Premiere
Directed by a visionary filmmaker, the latest film from director Michael Mann which boasts a star-studded cast ensemble of Adam Driver, Penélope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, Sarah Gadon, Gabriel Leone, Jack O’Connell and Patrick Dempsey. The film captures a pivotal moment in the life of Enzo Ferrari, set in 1957. During this time, Enzo (Driver) and Laura (Cruz) find their marriage unraveling due to his infidelity and the recent tragic loss of their young son.
Their unsettled domestic world is on a collision course with his work life as Enzo faces a pair of major turning points: financial pressure to increase productivity, which means going against his long-standing desire to only produce race cars, and preparations for the treacherous cross-country open-road Mille Miglia race.
The Red-Carpet Extravaganza
The red carpet at the Venice Film Festival is not just a walkway; it’s a stage for fashion statements, a showcase of elegance, and a platform for artistic expression. Patrick Dempsey, Michael Mann and Adam Driver attend a red carpet for the movie Ferrari at the 80th Venice International Film Festival. From flowing gowns to sharp tuxedos, the fashion choices were nothing short of extraordinary.
What I wore on the Red-Carpet
For this year’s 80th Venice Film Festival, I partnered up with my favourite designer Drenusha Xharra, who has created two customised dresses for me. Since I was very happy with our Cannes Film Festival customised gowns, I flew again to Prishtina to meet Drenusha Xharra and to create special dresses for this year’s Venice Film Festival.
We opt for a sophisticated and elegant black gown, embellished with tiny black stones, which were inserted one by one and handcrafted perfectly.
A Night to Remember
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the festival came alive with a sense of anticipation. The premiere of the Ferrari movie was a resounding success, leaving the audience in awe. The film, coupled with the picturesque surroundings of Venice, created a cinematic experience like no other. After the premiere, guests headed to the Campari Lounge for Campari Spritz and dinner.
A special night in the historic Hotel Des Bains
Campari – Main Sponsor of the Biennale Cinema for the sixth consecutive year – once again surprised its guests with an exceptional night of glamor and passion, in the historic Hotel Des Bains, one of the most iconic places in the cinema history.
The exclusive red carpet party, a homage to an extraordinary historical place which, since 1900, has been a combination of splendor and avant-garde, as well as a source of inspiration for the greatest literary and cinematographic works, both in Italy and internationally. A magical hotel that has hosted the most important moments of the Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica, the oldest film festival in the world, right from the start.
Guests were able to fully experience the Campari atmosphere: the hotel foyer welcomed guests with the iconic Campari drinks, while the keys were handed over at reception to start a real journey into Passion and Creativity, key elements that distinguish the brand. A stop at the historic bar, to savor a special selection of cocktails, and then retrace the history of the hotel through the films on the big screen.
What I wore for the Red Passion Party
Also for the second day of the Venice Film Festival, I choose to wear another creation of Drenusha Xharra. This metallic dress, was the perfect dress for the Campari Red Passion Party in the Hotel Des Bains. I created a wet look hairstyle and a glowy and dewy makeup look, which looked perfect with this dress.
Campari has a rich history full of storytelling, passion, and innovation.
