Next to the Medici Chapel in the historic centre, Firenze Number Nine is a boutique wellness hotel that offers wonderful stay and a truly unique experience
I seem to be traveling non stop at the moment. With a few last minute plans thrown, that means sometimes I spend a week or two at home between trips. I am enjoying every second of the whirlwind and I couldn’t wait to visit for the first time – Italy’s most enchanting city, Florence.
Together with my girl Silia, we decided to take another trip this summer and thought about Florence. Both huge fans of Italy, we were very excited to spend couple of days in Tuscany. Florence has more than one million works of Renaissance art—among them Michelangelo’s David and Botticelli’s Birth of Venus. Definitely, the cradle of the Renaissance, Florence is one of Europe’s great art cities.
We stayed at the award-winning Firenze Number Nine Hotel. Named as Best Urban Hotel in 2016 by CondeNast Johansens, this hotel is set in a restored 17th century palazzo. A perfect hotel for singles, couples, families who want to stay in the heart of Florence – just two minutes walk from the Duomo.
The boutique hotel offers different chic rooms and suites, dressed in classic Florentine materials such as stone and marble, luxurious spa and fitness center, complete with yoga and pilates classes and more. We had the opportunity to stay three nights in two different rooms and loved the experience of different interior style that Firenze Number Nine offers. As you can see on the photos, the first room in white/orange was a bit smaller and a typical double-bedroom, however our second room was a huge bright Maisonette with beautiful parquet floors, two bathrooms and king size bed. Our beautiful suite had an overlooking to Giotto’s Campanile and red rooftops of Florence.
The hotel has 42 rooms in over three floors. Check-in time 3:00 PM-midnight, check-out time is at noon. There is free WiFi in public area and also free WiFi in rooms. From the airport to hotel, it takes approx. 20 min by taxi for approx. 22-26 Euros. The staff is very friendly, helpful and very welcoming. The restaurant Le Muse, specializes in Italian cuisine – offers daily continental breakfast, room service (during limited hours) and serves dinner as well.
We loved our breakfast and room-service, enjoyed our walks to the city and especially our early morning walks around Duomo. On our last day, we also had the opportunity to experience the Arya Day Spa and had a 30 min full-body massage with ayurveda rituals, that made us to reconnect our body and soul and made our goodbye even harder!
Enjoy the photos below and stay patient for the next blogpost and my personal Florence city guide for insider tips.
