“A woman’s dress should be like a barbed-wire fence: serving its purpose without obstructing the view.” – Sophia Loren
I hope everyone’s week is off to a great start. For this post, I am wearing probably one of my favorite summer dresses ever, which is almost sold out everywhere, only few left here. I used to hate the color red when I was a child and a teenager, but apparently some tastes change and do get better as you get older and you grow out of habits, then you hit a plateau.
The gorgeous ruffled georgette-trimmed guipure lace dress and of course my favorite midi length, all come together to create what is a perfect dress in my opinion. Self-Portrait’s midi dress is cut from the brand’s signature guipure lace – this season updated in a romantic floral pattern. The fitted bodice is framed by ruffled georgette trims and a grosgrain waistband for the most flattering effect. The rich red hue especially suits olive and dark skin tones. Perfect for a cocktail hour and I’ve been so obsessed with this dress since I have received it. So far, simple strappy flats and a structured cross-body seem to be the winning combination, but I’m reserved to find new ways to wear it just the same. Perhaps with black shoes and jacket once it gets a bit cooler. Regardless, I have a feeling you’re going to see me often in this dress.
