Spring is officially upon us in Vienna! The temperatures are steadily warm, the sun is shining, which makes me really happy since the winter was a little rough this year. I love spring and there’s definitely something in the air, I hope you can feel it too!
In some ways I think it has to do with the fact that spring shows the end of cold, gloomy winter and the beginning of my favorite time of the year, but also because everything feels fresh, new and exciting and honestly – I feel like a completely different person! Though I often gravitate towards a deeper and darker color palette for winter, in spring time I love wearing pretty pastels and bright colors. I teamed up with Popp & Kretschmer and I choose this wonderful outfit. This year is no exception of course and today’s look is a perfect example of that.
As you may have noticed, I was not so social media active last months and reading comments on Instagram that you were missing my posts makes me apologize again. Being your own boss means a self-managed work schedule, but one that ends up being 24/7. Blogging is an ultra-competitive field, meaning every aspect of your content output has to be perfect. When you go into a photoshoot, you want it to be on the level of a magazine shoot that used a stylist, wardrobe assistant, hair and makeup team, photographer, set designer, assistant photographer…except you don’t have any of those things. It’s just me and Tony, driving around location scouting with a change of outfits in the trunk.
People outside of this bubble, don’t consider it a job. They don’t see what goes into the production of the content we (bloggers) publish. It’s a constant hustle, yes, c-o-n-s-t-a-n-t! You have to constantly prove what you’re worth in this business. This industry is glamorous, but it can be a strain. Travel is an amazing privilege, yet exhausting.
When the audience gets used to your high quality content and traveling, they expect you to keep your work on the same level, but traveling so much when I need to be in the office working with my clients, can be counterproductive.
However, the best part about this journey is, that I get to meet and work with so many amazing people. I will continue traveling from end of April, and I cannot wait to share many moments and experiences with you as soon as possible. Until than, I wish you a wonderful Spring season!
