The best way to spend sunny or cloudy days are definitely lounging on a sun bed, cocktail in one hand, book in the other while listening to either the residential DJ or crashing waves. Whether you are spending your holidays in Seminyak, venturing down south, or have decided to go Island-hopping – here I have a list of Bali’s hottest beach clubs for you.
As you may have heard, Bali offers an eclectic mix of beach clubs lining the southern coasts and hidden below the pristine cliffs of the Bukit peninsula. With delicious tapas and classy snacks to accompany drinks that are prepared by skilled baristas, these locations spice up the splendid sunny coastlines by day and host perfect evenings following gorgeous Bali sunsets. Here are my favorite beach clubs in Bali to help you decide which coast and venue to head to:
Sundara Beach Club Bali, Jimbaran
Located on Jimbaran Bay, one of Bali’s most exclusive stretch of sand, this serene restaurant and lounge hits the spot. By day, lounge on a double day bed and soak up the rays next to the 57-metre infinity pool. By night, relax by the fire pits and enjoy Bali’s most tantric avant-garde cocktails created by DRY Martini’s Javier de las Muelas whilst letting your ears be tantalised by the live music from Bali’s top indie artists. The food here is also excellent so don’t leave before you have sampled their Asian inspired menu, which you can enjoy on the beach with your toes in the sand. For those that enjoy the romantic and cosmopolitan vibe, this is for you!

Ku De Ta, Seminyak
One of the most prominent hotspots on the island, Ku De Ta in Seminyak features a unique layout with a main restaurant area, a dedicated bar, a centrepiece lawn bordering the beachfront where special events take place and a special private loft for secluded moments. A dedicated sunset box provides the perfect vantage point to enjoy the crimson horizon and its own in-house international DJ team plays an impressive series of compilation albums, making Ku De Ta top of the list for music. This one-stop dining and chill-out spot has a ‘French bistro-esque’ beachside garden setting with many cosy corners to choose from. The kitchen serves a menu of pan-Asian cuisine including Thai and Japanese as well as Moroccan, European and Mediterranean flavours. Ku De Ta is a perfect venue to enjoy lazy breakfasts, hearty brunches and lunches, as well as tapas. Enjoy candlelit dinners for two at the intimate dining room, called ‘the pergola’.

Potato Head Beach Club, Seminyak
Potato Head Beach Club is one of the most popular beach clubs with most happening venues in Seminyak, joining the array of world-class hotspots that line this upscale, cosmopolitan coastal village. The venue is next door to the W Retreat, and its access from the main Jalan Petitenget road is similar to W’s, with a long lane that transports you to a world of drinks, dining and partying on its grassy beachfront. Resident DJs spin well into the early hours, and international DJs and celebrities take the poolside stage in front of an ocean backdrop, such as Marc Ronson, Foster the People, Fat Boy Slim and M.I.A. and many more.

WOO BAR AT W HOTEL, Seminyak
If you have an inkling and love of design, fine food and great entertainment, W Retreat and Spa is a modern concept hotel with a beach restaurant, large pool area and Woo Bar. Beyond sunset, venture here for a brunch of fresh seafood consumed whilst kicking back on the colorful day beds around the terraced pool, entertained by Cafe del Mar tunes. This is considered to be the high side of Bali life. Excellent service, loads of clubbing events and concerts performed by popular world entertainers, and a lush interior from ceiling to floor make this place an absolute must. Quality comes with a price, but at a venue like this, I couldn’t complain. I suggest to book a table early if you don’t want to elbow your way through the masses.

Mrs Sippy Bali
The new IT place in Bali turns out to be everything that everyone was raving about, and more. Bali is HOT, so when you visit Seminyak’s latest hot spot and see all that amazing Mrs Sippy pool, it’s like a mirage. Marly not a fantasy, but a reality… a beautiful reality.

Finn’s Beach Club, Canggu
Finn’s Beach Club is a chic hangout on Berawa Beach in Canggu, featuring a magnificent all-bamboo structure that is spacious and airy, and an adjacent blue-tiled freeform infinity pool, you can stay either in our out of the sun, or simply soak in the pool while taking in wide ocean views. The beach club welcomes surfers, who can paddle in for a cold beer and a bite after each session on the waves. For sunset lovers, it is one of the best lounging spots in Canggu for just that, with signature cocktails at hand. When you’re not chilling out on their single or double parasol-shaded daybeds, hit the 30m infinity edge pool, order up your drink from a swim up bar, and enjoy cool tunes fed through underwater speakers. There’s daybeds and beanbags on the sand.

KARMA BEACH, Uluwatu
Karma Beach lies on the tropical luxury oasis of the stunning coast line of Uluwatu. I highly recommend to visit Uluwatu and enjoy with breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. A perfect place to start your day with yoga or just relaxing on the white sandy beach. If you’re feeling less bendy rent a complimentary sea kayak and snorkelling gear to explore the deep blue lagoon just off the beach. And if this also too much activity enjoy one of their ocean view signature massages at the Karma.
